Robert Lewandowski: a striker across European leagues
From Poland to Dortmund
Lewandowski built his senior career in Poland with Znicz Pruszków and Lech Poznań, helping Lech win the 2009–10 league title. A move to Borussia Dortmund in 2010 took him to the Bundesliga. There he became a leading scorer and played in the 2013 Champions League final.
Eight seasons at Bayern
He joined Bayern Munich in 2014 and won the Bundesliga in each of his eight seasons there. Bayern’s 2019–20 Champions League triumph was the high point of a campaign in which he led its attack. His long scoring record in Germany made the 2022 transfer to Barcelona a major change in both league and playing environment.
Barcelona and Poland
At Barcelona he continued as a central striker, bringing experience from German football to a different attacking system. He has also captained Poland and represented the national side at major tournaments. His career spans domestic titles in three countries, but the consistent thread is his work as a penalty-area finisher.
